Pentaerythritol

· Pentaerythritol is a white, odorless, and tasteless crystalline powder with a molecular weight of 136.15. It has a melting point of 253℃, is soluble in water (about 5.5g/100mL at 20℃), and slightly soluble in ethanol, glycerol, and ethylene glycol. It possesses excellent chemical stability, reactivity, and resistance to oxidation and hydrolysis.

1. Core raw material for alkyd resins in decorative and industrial finishes

2. Used to produce explosives such as pentaerythritol tetranitrate (PETN)

3. Acts as a stabilizer and antioxidant in food and cosmetic formulations

4. Serves as a precursor for manufacturing plasticizers and surfactants

5. Applied in the production of UV-curable resins for coatings and inks
