Isocaprylic acid/2-Ethylhexanoic acid

2-Ethylhexanoic acid is a colorless and slightly smelly liquid. Flammable, slightly soluble in cold water, soluble in hot water and ether, slightly soluble in ethanol. It can be used as an intermediate in paint and paint drying agents, as a modifier for alkyd resins, to produce peroxides as catalysts for polymerization reactions such as PE, as well as for lubricating oil esters and PVC stabilizers.
