Methanol

· Methanol is a colorless, highly volatile liquid with a wine-like odor. It has a molecular weight of 32.04, a boiling point of 64.7℃, and a melting point of -97.8℃. Miscible with water, ethanol, ether, and most organic solvents, it is a polar solvent with strong solubility. Notably, it is highly toxic—ingestion or inhalation of large amounts can cause severe damage to the central nervous system and organs like the liver and kidneys.
