Titanium(IV) oxide

· Titanium dioxide is an inorganic chemical pigment with titanium dioxide as its main component. It possesses high refractive index, strong hiding power, excellent gloss, and stable physicochemical properties, while also exhibiting non-toxicity and unique light absorption/scattering characteristics. It is primarily used as a raw material for white coatings and as an additive in synthetic fibers and rubber. The photocatalytic activity and safety of titanium dioxide also make it applicable in cosmetics, food additives, pharmaceuticals, and catalysts. Its production processes mainly include the sulfuric acid process and the chloride process.

Titanium dioxide is widely used in coatings (the largest application), plastics, paper, inks, and is also heavily applied in chemical fibers, rubber, cosmetics (sunscreen, whitening), pharmaceuticals (coating), food (pigment), and nanomaterials (photocatalytic self-cleaning, electronics)
