Tetrachloroethylen is widely used, mainly as an organic solvent, dry cleaning agent, metal degreasing solvent, and also as an insect repellent. Tetrachloroethylen can be used as fat extractant, fire extinguishing agent and smoke screen agent, etc., and can also be used to synthesize trichloroethylen and fluorinated organic compounds.
