Crude Oil Price Volatility and Its Impact on Chemical Raw Materials

29 - Oct - 2026

Brent crude oil has seen sharp fluctuations recently. Starting from around $97.7 in early October, it climbed to a peak of $117.5, before easing slightly to $115.8 amid diplomatic efforts to ease tensions in the Middle East. WTI crude also followed this upward trend.

Geopolitical risks in the Middle East remain the main driving factor behind this price rally. While recent diplomatic mediation has brought a minor pullback, market sentiment stays sensitive to any new developments in the region.

As a supplier of chemical raw materials, we closely track crude movements because crude is the fundamental feedstock for many of our products, including adipic acid, TDI, MDI, tetrahydrofuran, polyether polyol, trimellitic anhydride, methyl methacrylate, epichlorohydrin, plasticizers, n-butanol, polybutene, trimethylolpropane and sebacic acid. When crude prices rise, upstream production costs increase gradually, which will eventually transfer to the prices of these petrochemical derivatives.

We have noticed that many buyers are confused about whether to place orders or delay purchases. Our practical suggestion is to plan your procurement reasonably. You may consider locking supply to avoid sudden price jumps. Meanwhile, we recommend confirming valid quotation terms with your suppliers, as short pricing validity has become common in this volatile market.

The outlook for crude remains uncertain. Any new geopolitical news could trigger another round of price swings. Our team keeps monitoring global energy markets and upstream factory updates daily, so we can provide you with timely market information and stable supply support.
